first impression...

Before my front door had a number on it (the building is still under construction), the only thing separating it from every other unit on the floor was a post it - something not that reliable as my brother pointed out when he got the brilliant idea to switch post-its on a recent visit, lol. It got me thinking though, how would you make your front door stand out from all the others on your street? I'd probably go with classic red and a brilliant door knocker or white with elegant silver numbers... but now I have finally have a skinny rectangular mirror with my number on it, so it's ok, no getting lost here... and you can check your lipgloss on the way out!

Love the yellow door! My duplex is a funky coral color, wondering what would look good on my door. Right now it's brown....

Yellow would definitely be bright! You should take a pic of your place and try out some colours on screen... although if you don't ending up liking yellow, you can always repaint!

There is just something about a red door that I cannot resist!

I've been thinking about painting my front door a deep peacock green. This is inspiring.

I love the simplicity of a single number (like on the white door) & red is so classic, but the blue door is unexpected with all the windows. The yellow is totally cool, but not so sure I could ever pull that off. ;)

love, love, love these entrances, especially the first two. i painted my front door and shutters dark red at a previously owned florida house. really changed the look against the stucco (the trim was dull, faded green beforehand). my suggestion, though, never exterior paint in humidity with an impending thunderstorm. took me weeks to clean up.

Oh no Pam! How on earth did you clean that up? Well now we know! lol

it was a nightmare, daniella. my mom and sister were there to start the job, but had to fly back home the day after the storm. i was left with what looked like a battle scene at my front door. my stucco was pink where the red ran. we were scrubbing stucco with toothbrushes before the paint dried. i wiped what paint i could off the door, waited a few days for the humidity to drop and started slower painting again. but it literally took weeks to fix.

The red wins. Hands-down (though red always wins in my book!).

Cheers.
