new j.crew :: bridal...

As much as I love J.Crew, I've never been a big fan of their bridal gowns, until I came across this gorgeous little dress today. J.Crew's bridal gowns always seem to be super-long empire styles, which lets be honest, looks a little ridiculous on someone petite like myself. So when I came across this little number in the new fall lookbook, I was so happy to see a new look for J.Crew bridal! How beautiful is all that lace and tulle? The perfect shade of beigey-cream... I love how it wraps so elegantly and comes together with a perfect bow... so pretty...

Would you ever consider a shorter style for your wedding dress?

This is so pretty. I've always preferred shorter or ballerina length gowns (especially with flats) - so demure!

i don't think j.crew needs to be in the bridal business; completely out of their marketing realm. this dress is cute for a party dress.
anyway, wouldn't you just hate to say your bridal gown came from J.Crew? As a fashionista, a real one, to me this won't work. sorry.

Since I wanted both..I designed my own wedding dress inspired by grace Kelly's dress..where the skirt was big and long with a big waist..but the embroidery top was actually a mini dress...so I was able to dance away in a minis dress!! my explanation does not make justice to the dress... my husband loved the surprise factor!
Hope you had a a great day!

This one is definitely cute! Would also be great as a dress to change into for dancing at the reception.

i LOVe this dress -- definitely a new direction for jcrew bridal! already married & didn't wear a short gown on my big day, but i think if i were to do it again, i'd consider it :]

Hi - I so would consider it if I could do my wedding all over again! I think it's so quirky when a bride has a short dress so I am a big fan... L x

I have been thinking about short wedding dresses, I am no where near getting married, but I think they are adorable and are great for younger brides and casual weddings! Love them!

You're right, this is adorable. I love her cute, curly hair too. I would like to think I was edgy enough to have worn a short dress for my wedding. In fact, I used to ponder it when I was single. But for some reason, when it came to my big day I opted for traditional so as not to regret it later on.

Oh I adore this wedding dress. If only I had found it for my wedding!

I love the idea, but just wonder if personally I'd be gutsy enough to break with tradition and go for something short.

Sasha-- I love what you did!! What a fantastic idea to have a mini underneath a big skirt!

I love it - the only thing is - your wedding might be the only time in your life you can go all-out dressed in a long awesome ballgown with train, veil, etc. This is may be the main reason I myself went with something more traditional.

I have heard awesome things about Jcrew gowns - especially that the quality is way far superior than other gowns for much higher prices (regular bridal gowns from the usual bridal salon less than even $2000 can be made of awful stiff and cheapo polyester)

That being said, JCrew wedding dresses do seem to be better suited for more casual outdoorsy beachy weddings.

on your wedding day i dont think anything can look ridiculous! i'm 5'2" and gunning for a sweetheart neck, empire waist, flowy gown. hopefully my theory is correct ;)
