grey + floral prints...

Yesterday I was flipping through Domino for some bedroom decor inspiration, and came across one of my favourite rooms... a beautiful mix of creamy "griege", milky hues, and silvery metallics. It's a monochromatic mix i've always been a fan of, with a touch of floral chintz to pull it all together. I always, always come back to this one photo, and I think it's time to just jump into a similar palette for my own place! I could probably go over decorating ideas again and again, switching from one palette to the next, but it's seriously time to make a decision... I don't need to go too crazy decorating, but i'd really like to add some of my own personal style to the place...

How do you just "jump" and make your decor decisions?

I recently found your blog and I really like it: such a beautifully curated series of images! These rooms are gorgeous but even before I read your post I was wondering how I could possibly pull such a look off in my own (decidedly less grand and glamorous) space. To take the plunge and make a decorating decision, I usually go with decisions that have already been made for me: whatever architectural oddity I have to work with, stuff I already have, budget constraints.

I still remember when I was totally redoing the bedroom. I agonized for months, then left it alone for another period of time. When I came back to it and was still excited with my original concept I knew it was time to finally take the jump! Scary though but now I love everything. Good luck!

I'm terrible at taking the jump when it's my own home.
With my bedroom I didn't make up my mind until I saw a wallpaper that I just had to have. Everything just followed from there.
Follow your heart.

These are lovely, Daniella!

I truly understand what you mean, as I too always toss up schemes. I find it works with the season -- for some reason... and right now, I'm craving the brightest coral against deep, clay grey. Before, it was lillacs, lavender and yellow-ish green. This look and scheme that you show is timeless and classic, and you could easily add/subtract whenever you felt the desire...
