in the details...

Recently I came across this beautiful space in an old issue of House & Home and the chandelier totally caught my eye. What a unique piece! At first glance I thought it was glass, but it's actually silk, made by Fortuny. I love the shape and all the detail... even the way it's hung with multiple strings... what do you think?

Stunning - Fortuny was a real renaissance man, check out his completely perfect delphos gown!

Oh, how I love that fixture! I saw one in the middle of a round livingroom once. The shadows cast made a perfect spider web on the ceiling.
I have the silk Pottery Barn knock off in my living room and the beaded one in my dining room. Love 'em, but they are certainly NOT the real thing.
