first impression...

I've always been a little jealous of those with homes, where they can decorate their front door. Being in a condo space, I don't really have that option, but i'd love to paint my front door a dramatic shade of red or black with a pretty handle, door knocker, and letter box! And really, how awesome would it be to have a mail slot? When was the last time is was even safe to still have a mail slot in your front door? lol... It would be so fun to decorate for Christmas though, and I especially like the two urns in this case with mini trees out front and matching snowflakes on the door... simple and chic...

Would you paint your front door black?

I have painted my front door black and I love it. The surround is white though to match the shutters but maybe it should have been black too just like this beautiful picture. Have a great day!!

I wish I had a front door too! My complex is hosting a door decorating contest right now but it's just not the same when only a few neighbors can see it! Love the black door - especially with the gold accents.

Love the classic vintage look of a glossy black door...especially when its all decked out for the holidays. Makes me imagine all kinds of festivities going on behind it!

I want to paint a door black too. I love this photograph. As for the mail slot, I am not sure I would feel safe with one now.
Have a nice day.

Hi ya, just found you and yes def. I would paint it black. I am actually thinking of painting some of my interior doors black because I have white trim. I'm thinking it might be a spring project. Love the picture of the bright green door!

This door is absolutely gorgeous! I have always been a renter, so I haven't had the opportunity to paint my door either. But when I can, I was thinking of going for something more bright - yellow or red or blue!

oh, this is lovely, Daniella!

We actually do have a black front door and black gates -- love it to pieces -- such a strong look for a home, I think. The gold on this one is stunning -- such character to this facade -- love your finds, always :)

... just stared at it again, and with your snow, it looks almost real...

My front door is black AND we have a mail slot! No mailbox. It IS chilly in the front hall these days, but I admit to being resistant to replacing the mail slot with a traditional mailbox...

My front door is black and I couldn't be happier! It's so striking, and the bold hardware really pops against the glossy paint.

I adore a black front door. It looks so sophisticated. I also love how your snow looks right at home with this picture.

Sounds like everyone likes the idea of a black door! I agree, it's totally striking...

Sarah - You have a black door already with gates!? Thats awesome!

YYZ - Aw, that's so cool that you still have a mail slot! My Granny in Scotland has one still too, but they still get door delivery for their mail... we definitely don't have it here!
