new growth...

If you haven't already picked up the gardening issue of Martha Stewart Living this month, I highly recommend you do so! The issue is stunning, with so much inspiration for Spring and Summer, I can barely contain my excitement for the seasons ahead. I don't have much of a green thumb, but i've always wanted to have the time to learn so I can one day have a garden like this one. Plenty of pretty flowers and fresh vegetables. I have this secret dream of just being able to enjoy the garden all day and then cook dinner from what's grown. Perfection!

P.S. The little house above? It's a chicken coop! It'd be fun if it was a little "summer room" for lemonade and lunch, no?

Leave it to Martha to make it all look so gorgeous. I want a studio and a garden around it. Love the 3rd image especially.
Will have to pick up a copy.

I think this is great! I can't wait until my husband and I don't have to move from military house to military house, and I can create another world with flowers and life in a big sprawling backyard.
I think that it's truly awesome, that you post this after I caved and bought some truly adorable orange daisies from the supermarket tonight. I just trimmed them and stuck them in an old glass orange juice pitcher. With half moon green marbles in the bottom. Super cute on the foyer table!
Anyways have a great week!

I love Splendid Sass's idea of having a studio in the little house in the middle of the garden. Now I'm picturing it with two entrances - half potting shed and half artist's studio.

That is one fancy chicken coop.
I am with you on the gardening fantasy. I have always loved big yards and beautiful gardens. I could spend hours studying gardening magazines and seed catalogs.

Hi, our (summer)cottage was once a place for animals. And a flower/vegetable garden, this year I will try definitely !!

What a dream...I agree, an artist studio in the middle of that garden would be amazing...but I also love that it's a chicken coop, I hope to have one some day...My grandma raises chickens, how hard could it be?

If I were to live with a garden like that, my life would be complete.

Yes, me dreaming the same here, and that little house would be perfect for lunch or tea in the afternoon... but not for the chickens, I don't think they will appreciate it as much as I would :) also chickens wear the same feathers everyday, I change mine daily.
Ok, seriously the little house is perfect. :)
