old faithful...

Sometimes I wish I had lived in a more "simpler" time... like when milk was still delivered in bottles, fresh on your doorstep each morning. Such an outdated way of doing things seems like such a treat now, doesn't it?

Hi, I remember when the Hood's milkman would deliver our bottles of milk on our back porch. And every once in awhile my mother would order a bottle of grape juice. That was a special treat. Us kids would try and steal ice from the back of the truck.

Karena - That's so neat! My only memory of getting things delivered was the Dicky Dee ice cream man! lol

Amy - Me too.

Jan - Aw that sounds so cute! And with a bottle of grape juice? I guess that's kind of what our CSA drop offs our like now. I know farmers around here will drop off milk too, but there's something about those vintage bottles!

Erika - Oh neat! Where did you find them for sale? They're perfect for flowers too :)

So true! Life is too fast for my taste, I'd love nothing more than to wake up and find a bottle of milk at my doorstep!

We just signed up with a milkman and they showed up with a coleman cooler I guess it is functional but I was hoping for something cuter than that.

We get milk in glass bottles every morning on our desktop :) And we're in the middle of Washington DC! Find a local dairy farm - they may just deliver to you!

in the Philippines, my mom used to buy carabao's milk in a bottle with a rolled strip of banana leaf as a stopper. it's very ethnic and nostalgic. :)

One of my aunts lives in a small town outside of Manchester, England and she still gets milk delivered in bottles by the milkman. There is a special box on the porch where he leaves it.

Oh yes! Europe is definitely a different story, they still carry on so many of the little "good things"! Lucky!
