field of dreams...

During the beginning of my time off last week, I visited a beautiful lavender farm with my friend Natalie. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous and we were there at just the right time with all the lavender in bloom. Last year I was at another farm a little too early in the season, and didn't get to witness the full effect.

It was super hot that day, but we headed out anyway with scissors and elastic bands in hand to pick our own bundles. It smelled absolutely wonderful out in the field, with plenty of bees buzzing all over place - seriously amazing. Luckily the bees weren't that bothersome, being in a lavender pollen trance of some sort i'm sure... it does help you relax afterall! There's so many different kinds of lavender though, from dark purple, to a light, almost minty hue. It definitely makes for a gorgeous bouquet once we gathered it all together... I loved it!

If you ever get the chance to visit a lavender farm I highly recommend it. Freshly picked, it's nothing like you're "grandmother's" lavender. One of these days I hope to visit one of the lavender festivals that take place during the Summer... would be so fun!

Daria - It does look really pretty, especially when you're out there!

Tamra - This farm is in Wallacetown, Ontario.

It's a little ways past Port Stanley, but there's a few of them around in the area. Last year I went to the farm closer to Port Stanley. It was good too, but not pick-your-own.

There's also this one: http://www.lavenderblue.ca/ Haven't been there yet though!

I am a big fan of lavender, collect all things with lavender in and on :) postcards, sachets, syrups, creams, candles, perfumes, sprays, images, prints, postcards to frame, bedding etc. Once visited a lavender field during the fullest bloom in Kaikoura, New Zealand and was amazed. Thanks for taking me to one farm again with your lovely pix.

Just beautiful! My parents have some friends who have converted some of their farmland in Oregon into lavendar fields...now I am inspired to go visit them and see them first hand!

Brittany - It definitely was!

Caitlin - Thanks :)

Tiffany - lol, that the best lavender saying ever! Hahaha... thanks for the congrats too :)

Sarah - I think that's the only time I actually liked the bees around, lol. They were too preoccupied with all the flowers.

Aylin - Wow, there really are sooo many products you can use lavender in. Glad you liked the post!

Classiq - Thanks!

Barbara - Yes, you should definitely visit if you get the chance! How lucky!

Andrea - Aw, thanks! My goal is to start documenting more of my own pics, I really need to pic up a new camera. Luckily the one I have works really well during the daytime - nighttime, not so much, lol.
